GOD'S ORCHESTRATION AND PERFECT TIMING !

Thank you for reading this letter!  Your burden for Jewish people encourages my soul!  I love ministering in Arizona!  I’m originally from NYC…from the Bronx.  You may be thinking, “What are you doing in Arizona?  There are so many Jewish people in NYC!”  That thought runs through my mind quite often…and I smile.  My smile widens when I meet many Jewish people from the Bronx and Brooklyn in my desert neighborhood.  God nudged me a year ago to record how many Jewish non-believers I personally know locally…whom I visit and who attend outreaches and Bible studies.  The number: 288.

Recently, during teaching a women’s Bible study on the wilderness wanderings of the Israelites as they carried the portable tabernacle, I strongly encouraged the ladies to put themselves into the sandals of the children of Israel. I was quite over-the-top in sharing and wondered if I was a bit much (whatever that means)!   Following the class I visited an elderly Jewish friend whom I’ve been visiting regularly for over twelve years.  Ariel* and I have had many “come-to-Jesus” conversations.  When I arrived at the group home, Ariel was sleeping. Her health is failing. I knelt at her bedside and spoke of Jesus and cried out to God for her salvation.  As I rose, a Rabbi walked into the room.  “Are you Rabbi A*?” I asked.  We had met at a Jewish rally several years ago.  I immediately and excitedly shared with this Orthodox Rabbi my teaching at Scottsdale Bible Church that morning regarding the mischan, the tabernacle in the wilderness.  I spoke of our desire to understand the heart of the people who approached God through the sacrificial system since sin had separated them from Him. Rabbi A* explained that the sacrificial system was due to God wishing to exalt the animals, giving them purpose in being sacrificed!?  I stated, quoting Lev. 17:11, “The Torah tells us that God required blood to atone for our soul.  A person sinned and something had to die.” I then shared Psalm 84:1-4 written by the sons of Korah who thanked God for His dwelling place and expressed a longing for the courts that were bloodied from the sacrifices of innocent animals offered night and day.  Ariel’s family arrived.  It was appropriate for me to leave.  The morning and early afternoon flowed within God’s orchestration and perfect timing.

The number of Jewish non-believers: 289.

Joyful in Him,
Cathy
